The natural oil produced by our body (Called the SEBUM) act as the skin's lipid barrier, protecting against extreme temperatures, dry climates, and over cleansing.

The skin starts pumping out SEBUM when its oil content isn't balanced. So if the skin is stripped of its natural oils by over cleansing, the body will actually produce more oil to compensate. This causes OPEN & Clogged Pores and breakouts
